Editing XLSX documents in Microsoft Excel!

Users can now access Excel directly through denari! To get into excel, click the Sharepoint link. This will open up your file directly into Excel!

Access Excel Editing by clicking the Sharepoint button and logging in with your Microsoft Office Account

For excel desktop enthusiasts, you can quickly open your document in your desktop excel app by clicking the Editing > Open in Desktop button once in the Excel Web app.

You can access the Desktop app by selecting "Editing" > "Open in Desktop"

All edits you make will automatically be saved to your excel version. Then once you finish making any edits (in the web or desktop version), you can apply them to your denari xlsx document by clicking Sharepoint > Sync from Microsoft. In some instances it can take 30s to a minute for changes to register. So if you made changes and don't see the sync from microsoft option, wait until you see the sync option to ensure they get applied to your document in denari.

Once you're done with your edits in Excel, you can sync the changes by clicking Sharepoint > Sync from Microsoft

Project list page search and filter improvements

We made a number of noticeable improvements to the project list page. The main improvement was on performance. Not only are our filters much more performant, but we added the ability for users to sort by date ranges for projects and not just specific dates.

Our new Filter accepts created at date ranges, instead of specific dates

Default Entity Types

In order to save time when creating projects. We now automatically assign entity types based on the default setting in the Entity Settings page!

Debit Based Trial Balance Option

After uploading a CSV as a Trial Balance users now have the option to assign balance columns to Debit based or Account Based(Previously Prelim Balance header) headers. We built the Debit based account header option to support Trial Balances that didn't follow the QBO format of positive/negative values based on the account type, but are instead positive values if the Trial Balance account has a debit balance and negative for a credit balance.

We also added a back button in case you end up choosing the wrong column header and don't want to have to start all the way from the beginning again.

Edit Calculations

Users can now not only edit lables after they've saved a caluclator annotation, but they can also edit the values and add more line items. All they need to do is click the edit icon that's associated to the saved calculations they want to edit, and they can update the labels or values for that annotaion.

TB update Journal Entry Warning

We had an issue where users would change categories in the chart of accounts of a project where the accounts had active Journal Entries. This would end up breaking the Journal Entries and caused some issues. Now we warn the user when they change the category type of an account that is actively used in a JE, and making the category change will result in the deletion of the JE.

Other Improvements

Show Book Balance for XLSX manual reconciliations

We had an issue where we didn't show the book balance for manual XLSX reconciliations which would make it hard for users to remember which value to reconcile to.

Bugs

Can now manually tie-out to Excel balances on any sheet, not just the first sheet.

Lets users know if a frozen Excel column blocks viewing the Excel sheet entirely.
