Teams Update
This update allows firms to group projects and users into Teams. Putting guardrails on projects so users don't edit projects they shouldn't by mistake. Common use cases for this that we see firms use are grouping projects and users by department (e.g. CAS, Tax) and or by location (Location A, Location B) or a combination of the two.
Editing Teams
Admins can access a new “Teams” tab in the /admin route to see all existing teams, create new teams, as well as updating and deleting existing teams. There is a clip about deleting teams with users and projects assigned below.
Project creation and updating with teams
Projects can be assigned to a single team. Changing teams in the form will remove the users currently set, since they may not be valid selections anymore (not on the new team selected)
Removing teams from a user (project removal side-effect)
Removing users from teams requires us to remove them from all projects they were assigned to which are also assigned to the team they are being removed from. Since this would be a big surprise, we made sure give you a preview of projects that user would be removed from.
Deleting a team with projects assigned
Deleting a team after users and projects have been assigned to it requires both to have those teams removed from them, but not users to be removed from those projects because all users are valid on a project with no team selected.
