Chart of Accounts
You can't edit prelim balances or add a balance when creating a new account because we don't want to enable unbalanced projects. If you want to create a new account from the CoA(Chart of Accounts), feel free to do so and then add a balanced Journal entry to set the proper starting balance.
The Chart of Accounts is used to edit any line items after importing a Trial Balance. You can edit any line item by clicking the "..." action on the right hand side and then clicking "Edit account". The Columns you can edit are listed below.
Name
required Account name of the line item
Number
not required Account number of the line item
Firm Number
not required Custom Number tied to line item used by Accounting Firm. Most common use case is to standardize Accounts across projects, clients, and entities
Category
required The category of the line item
